About Todd A. Auker, M.D.

Dr. Auker got his bachelor’s degree from U.C. Santa Barbara as an independent major in Bioethics. He studied at U.C. Berkeley Graduate School of Public Health through the Visiting Scholar’s Program. He obtained his medical degree from U.C. San Francisco and completed his internship at Stanford University Medical Center and Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. His medical and surgical residency in Ophthalmology was completed at the Bethesda Eye Associates and Saint Louis University.

Dr. Auker practiced general medicine for two years prior to specializing in Ophthalmology. He continues to address each patient’s overall health and is dedicated to remaining a comprehensive physician.

After completing residency, Dr. Auker joined the Kaiser Permanente Medical Group, Walnut Creek. During his 10 years at Kaiser as a comprehensive ophthalmologist, he performed many thousands of surgeries. In addition to perfecting his skills as a general ophthalmologist, Dr. Auker also provided specialty services in glaucoma, oculoplastics and laser vision correction surgery for this large department serving all of eastern Alameda and Contra Costa counties. This tremendous surgical volume only refined Dr. Auker’s surgical and diagnostic skills and established his reputation of excellence.

He also served as the Chief of the Laser Safety Committee and as a member of the Hospital Ethics Committee.

Despite working with many excellent colleagues and valuing every patient in his large practice, Dr. Auker ultimately realized that establishing a private practice would allow him more latitude in providing the highest quality of individualized care for each patient.

In 2001, Dr. Auker established the Auker Eye Associates with the mission statement: “We will deliver the highest standard of care while providing the best clinical judgment, surgical skills and quality outcomes available anywhere.”
